Debi has a M.Ed. in Instructional Design, an MA certificate in Professional Writing from Northern Arizona University, and developed the 'eLearning Design and Development' certificate program at the University of South Florida. Her hands-on, common sense approach toward designing new and converting existing online training courses works because she's "been there, done that." Unlike many of her peers, she doesn't spend time writing books and conference hopping. She works in the trenches exploring best practices and sharing what works in a real-world environment where money and time are in short supply.
With her passion for writing (and seeing how everyone from the very young to the seasoned executive struggles with everything from emails, to executive summaries and epics) she can teach how imitation is the key to effective writing.
Notwithstanding, in 2001, she moved her ILT staff from 100% onsite customer training to 85% online trainers and designers in less that 9 months. Again in 2004, Debi was presented the Centra Paragon Award for the best use of a collaboration and distance learning tools to deliver software application training to over 3000 North American customers in 2 weeks.
If you want results, if you want to make a difference, if you want your employees to learn and succeed, then you need a "doer' and not a 'speaker'.
